Imagine a choir that mixes into a crowded metro corridor one morning and begins singing “Slow down, you’re moving too fast; you’ve got to make the morning last.”
Imagine a choir that shows up at an immigration office and sings “We are the World” while seated among the newly arriving immigrants.
Imagine a choir that sings “We live in a Beautiful World” while riding bikes along the Lachine canal.
Definition: Guerrilla warfare is the unconventional warfare and combat with which a small group of combatants use mobile tactics (ambushes, raids, etc.) to combat a larger and less mobile formal army.
Guerrilla Choir would be a strike force for good, for love, for inclusion, for healing, for the earth.
If you are interested in making this happen then join the group.
If your interested in playing a role in shaping what Guerrilla Choir looks like, send me an email and I’ll tell you about an upcoming brainstorming. info @ guerrillachoir . com
Besides guerrilla singers we will need-
- Instrumentalists-guitarist, djembéist and percussionists, other melodic instrumentalists-violin, flute, recorder, etc
- Creatives-who can dream up more great ideas on where, what and to whom we sing
- Legal consultant-to keep us and to get us out of trouble.
- French consultant-we want to be bilingual, we need help thinking of French songs as well as translating information
- Documentary makers-why not make a documentary of this?
- Party organizer-so we can have lots of fun
There is room for a lot of people in Guerrilla choir – since we will be singing in weird places at weird times, it is assumed that not everyone will sing at every performance.
We will sing songs…
- That you probably already know or that we can quickly learn
- That have been arranged with simple harmony
- That are accompanied by guitar, percussion and another melodic instrument
- That have a specific message for the location
Scheming to commit Goodness,
David Brazzeal
